Remote optimal state estimation over communication channels with random delays

چکیده
This paper is concerned with the optimal estimation of linear systems over unreliable communication channels with random delays. The measurements are delivered without time stamp, and the probabilities of time delays are assumed to be known. Since the estimation is time-driven, the actual time delays are converted into virtual time delays among the formulation. The receiver of estimation node stores the sum of arrived measurements between two adjacent processing time instants and also counts the number of arrived measurements. The original linear system is modeled as an extended system with uncertain observation to capture the feature of communication, then the optimal estimation algorithm of systems with uncertain observations is proposed. Additionally, a numerical simulation is presented to show the performance of this work. & 2013 The Franklin Institute. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Design of Observer-based H∞ Controller for Robust Stabilization of Networked Systems Using Switched Lyapunov Functions
In this paper, H∞ controller is synthesized for networked systems subject to random transmission delays with known upper bound and different occurrence probabilities in the both of feedback (sensor to controller) and forward (controller to actuator) channels. A remote observer is employed to improve the performance of the system by computing non-delayed estimates of the sates. The closed-loop s...
متن کاملState Estimation Subject to Random Communication Delays
The state estimation problem is studied for networked control systems (NCSs) subject to random communication delays and the measurements without time stamps. With the random delay bounded by one step only, a new measurement model is proposed for possible out-of-sequence measurements. For unstable systems, to guarantee linearly unbiased estimator and uniformly bounded estimation error variance, ...
متن کاملAttack Allocation on Remote State Estimation in Multi-Systems: Structural Results and Asymptotic Solution
This paper considers optimal attack attention allocation on remote state estimation in multi-systems. Suppose there are M independent systems, each of which has a remote sensor monitoring the system and sending its local estimates to a fusion center over a packet-dropping channel. An attacker may generate noises to exacerbate the communication channels between sensors and the fusion center. Due...
متن کاملThe Expected Achievable Distortion of Two-User Decentralized Interference Channels
This paper concerns the transmission of two independent Gaussian sources over a two-user decentralized interference channel, assuming that the transmitters are unaware of the instantaneous CSIs. The availability of the channel state information at receivers (CSIR) is considered in two scenarios of perfect and imperfect CSIR. In the imperfect CSIR case, we consider a more practical assumption of...
متن کاملSequence Estimation over Linearly-Constrained Random Channels
This paper presents a new approach using EM (Expectation-Maximization) algorithms for ML (maximum likelihood) sequence estimation over unknown ISI (inter-symbol interference) channels with linearly–constrained random channel coefficients which may be fast time-varying. By using the EM formulation to marginalize over the underlying channel coefficient distribution, maximum-likelihood estimates o...
